1 These describe the thing. They tell us what the thing ‘is

2 These tell us what the thing ‘has ’. What extra information we need to know.

1 We have two different ways to say these sentences:

Present tense:

The cat likes to play with mouse.

The mouse doesn’t like to play with him.

Past tense:

The cat liked to play with the mouse.

The mouse didn’t like to play with him.

2 Can you write three more examples in present and past tense? Such as this example…

Present tense:

The dog likes to chase the postman.

The postman doesn’t like to be chased.

Present tense:

The trader orders the goods.

The trader doesn’t order the goods.

Past tense:

The dog liked to chase the postman.

The postman didn’t like to be chased.

Past tense:

The trader orderd the goods.

The trader didn’t order the goods.
